Abstract Four important celebratory events took place after the Battle of Actium in 31 b.c. and the deaths of Cleopatra and Antonius in Alexandria that followed about a year later in 30 b.c.: the closing of the twin doors of the Shrine of Janus in 29 b.c.; the triple triumph for Octavianus’ victories in the Dalmatian campaigns, at Actium, and over Egypt in 29 b.c.; Octavianus’ dedication of the long-delayed Temple of Divus Iulius in 29 b.c.; and Octavianus’ dedication of the Temple of Apollo Palatinus in 28 b.c. All four coincided with notable celestial displays demonstrating the presence of Octavianus’ Julian celestial kin for the celebrations of his victory in the civil wars and the peace that came afterwards.
