Abstract At The Beginning Of The Fourth Century the Odrysian kingdom was articulated by a net work of regional centres. Some are documented archaeologically (Vetren, Vasil Levsky, Brezovo, Asara, Mezek; Seuthopolis region; Hisarlik, Kabyle?), others can be inferred from the location of contemporary high-status burials (Duvanli, Pastousha, Dulboki, Tatarevo; and in the north-east, Kapinovo, Rouets, Svetlen). Burials containing Greek bronzes are located at intervals between these first-order interments, confirming the general pat tern of regular, dispersed settlement throughout the Central Plain (figs. 9.1, 9.2).
