Abstract This chapter gives a "snapshot" of each map and document in detail, from a strange account of an Arab navigator in the Far East, apparently recorded by Bellela Polo, to a map of the Pacific Ocean, currently in the collections of the Library of Congress. The chapter also examines here what little is known about Bellela Polo, Moreta Polo, and Fantina Polo—the daughters of Marco Polo—whose names are found on a number of the documents. From a reading of the maps, it seems that the daughters were recording or preserving information about Asia brought back by their father, Marco Polo. But as this chapter notes, there are many questions brought up by this scenario.
