Abstract This chapter provides insight into Martin Luther King, Jr.'s foreign policy philosophy and solutions for Africa. The research reveals a civil rights leader who is deeply knowledgeable of the conditions of African leaders and African people. His understanding of the core issues and his insights continue to provide a pathway to solutions to grow Africa's future prosperity. MLK, Jr. commented on issues such as colonialism and foreign aid. The extent of King's activism, speeches, writings, and other work related to Africa is documented in this study—it's value for current Africa foreign policy has been greatly understated in the popular notions of this international icon of human rights. This study bridges gaps between King and African policy then and now.
