Ismail I

The Shah Ismail Khatai metro station is a station located on Line 2 of the Baku Metro. Opened on 22 February 1968, the station's first name was Stepan Shaumyan — an Armenian-born Bolshevik revolutionary who had led the Baku Soviet. During the period of Abulfaz Elchibey its name was changed and, taking its name from Ismail I, it became Shah Ismail.
