Afanasievo's Discovery of Siberia: The Earliest Steppe Expansion

The Afanasievo people migrated eastward from the Black Sea steppe and settled in the mountainous steppe country of southern Siberia.

They brought with them round kurgans, red-painted pottery and the herding of cattle, horses and sheep. The earliest population of western origin in the Yenisei basin; in contact with the proto-Turkic and proto-Mongol communities coming from the east.
