The Major Works of Ali Shir Nava'i

Ali Shir Nava'i (1441-1501) was the greatest poet of Chagatai Turkic and one of the founding figures of Turkic literature.

His principal works are the 'Hamsa' (five masnavis), 'Muhakemetü'l-Lügateyn' (a comparison of Turkic and Persian) and 'Mecalisü'n-Nefais' (a biographical anthology of poets).
