From 1500 BCE onward the artistic tradition of stylizing animals (the "animal style") matured on the Central Asian and Siberian steppe.

Motifs of deer, eagles, horses and dragons; gold and bronze plaques, carpets, felt and wood carvings. This tradition continued in Scythian, Saka, Sarmatian, Hun and Turkic cultures; the proto-foundation of Turkish carpet-making and jewellery.
