The Kelteminar culture developed between 5500 and 3000 BCE around the Aral Sea and the Amu Darya–Syr Darya delta; a semi-nomadic community that lived by fishing, hunting and gathering.

Long pointed microliths and net weights tell the story of its economy. An important part of the settlement history of Central Asia; a neighbour of the later Oxus civilization.
